Durham County Library used Edge to expand public internet access, strengthen library tech planning and secure funding to better serve customers with motor and dexterity impairments.

Toledo-lucas

Toledo Lucas County Public Library

The library used Edge to survey the community and realized that patrons wanted a more convenient way to access library materials and information, so the library created a mobile app to increase library awareness and provide access in markets the library may not be reaching. The library also began providing real-time reference services to support their individual goals and needs, and created a live chat service.

Charlotte Mecklenburg Library

Edge provided a framework for Charlotte Mecklenburg Library to evaluate and reconfigure its strategic community partnerships, helping the library forge new relationships with area colleges, national technology service providers and the county government. These partnerships have empowered the library to expand local makerspace opportunities, train staff in digital competencies and implement a digital inclusion curriculum for the public.

Toronto Public Library

Toronto Public Library used Edge to align its initiatives with city priorities. TPL used Edge data to discover opportunities to grow tech access in order to drive economic development for everyone. TPL also linked their tech access priority to key city initiatives such as the Toronto Poverty Reduction Strategy, City of Toronto Broadband Working Group and the Smart Cities Initiative.

El-paso

El Paso Public Library

Although it is the 22nd largest city in the U.S., El Paso faces an internet access problem: one-third of residents do not have home internet access. Edge helped guide El Paso Public Library in leveraging its resources to meet that key community need, and plan ahead to ensure solutions were sustainable.

Washoe

Washoe County Library System

Washoe County Library system used Edge to build its technology plan and implement new staff training requirements to build digital literacy throughout the community.

Forsyth County Public Library

Forsyth County Public Library uses Edge to manage and support the library's technology and improve its approach to digital inclusion. The library also used Edge data to present to the local government to get approval for a renovation of the Central Library, which included major improvements to the availability of assistive technology.

Greensboro1

Greensboro Public Library

Edge has allowed Greensboro Public Library to assess its technology offerings and make strategic decision, letting it be a partner and expand its role as a leader in the community. Library leaders realized that GPL staff are the primary contact for community members seeking tech resources and training, and fostered greater tech competency among staff through programs such as Green L.I.T.E and Tech Navigators, which connected staff with the community through Tech Open Houses.

Jacksonville

Jacksonville Public Library

Through Edge, JPL received data and reports to help them make the case for more resources to allow the library to expand and improve technology services and partnerships. As a result, JPL staff was able to create and teach advanced classes that cover digital photography, digital image editing, coding and other technology classes.

Louisville

Louisville Free Public Library

Edge served as a tool for Louisville Public Library to enhance partnership with other city departments to improve performance metrics while also addressing their own strategic planning. The library used Edge to rethink its three-year Broadband and Technology Opportunities Program and refocus the library's technology services.

Phoenix-Public-Library

Phoenix Public Library

Phoenix Public Library used Edge to meet its established priorities of digital and technology literacy in their 2016-2019 Strategic Plan. They also used Edge to establish a staff tech expertise baseline by developing a competency index in staff tech abilities.

Pioneer Library System

Pioneer Library served as a key community hub for their town after a devastating community ravaged their town. They provided access to vital eGovernment resources and they provided training for those who needed it via FEMA, the BBB and the SBA.

Sacramento

Sacramento Public Library

Sacramento used Edge to be more consistent in how it offered library services and trained staff, as well as expanding technology staff for public service. The library made sure that its offerings were comparable among its 28 branches, and especially wanted to make sure digital literacy offerings were of the same quality in all its locations.

San Antonio Public Library

San Antonio Public Library used Edge to provide tangible data to support its programming and investment. This led to a $1 million vote of confidence from the city council for technology infrastructure. Additionally, SAPL stepped up its staff training through a self-paced learning program called 11.5 COSAs.
