Key Strategies
The Edge initiative is both multi-faceted and laser-like in its focus on the value that people and communities get from the use of high-quality technology.
Our key strategies are to:
- Create benchmarks rooted in the key facets of practice which result in high-quality computer/Internet access that is used by as many people as possible
- Test draft versions of the benchmarks to improve their relevance, reliability and usability
- Support the benchmarks with tools, training and information resources that are user-friendly for libraries of all sizes
- Demonstrate how data generated by using the benchmarks can be used for effective advocacy with local government and civic leaders
- Build a national network of critical friends and allies by seeking input continuously from the fields of library and local government
- Ensure the widespread adoption and use of the benchmarks in 2012 and beyond through scalable training activities, public engagement campaigns, case studies and other testimony from the field that builds a durable foundation for the future
